Supporting more than 916,000 families to construct household toilets and move towards open defecation free villages.
RDO implemented a major rural sanitation programme across 11 states in North India, helping families build household toilets and adopt safe hygiene practices. The project combined community mobilisation, IEC material, local training and linkages with financial institutions. The work improved dignity, safety and health for millions of people, with a particular impact on women and girls who had previously faced risks during open defecation.
