RDO’s first major international partnership, supporting preschool education, adult learning, women’s groups and rural livelihoods.
Soon after RDO was founded in 1980, HIVOS became its first international development partner. The programme helped RDO establish deep roots in remote Nilgiris villages through preschool education, adult literacy, women’s groups, income generation and infrastructure support. It also linked communities with banks and government departments, creating an early foundation for RDO’s long term community owned development model.
