Mobilising NGOs and legislators to advocate for employment guarantee rights for rural agricultural workers.
RDO played a leading role in advocacy for employment guarantee in Tamil Nadu, inspired by the Maharashtra Employment Guarantee model. Under the leadership of founder N.K. Perumal, RDO helped bring grassroots NGOs together through the Joint Action Council of Voluntary Agencies and engaged legislators through workshops, seminars and public dialogue. The campaign contributed to wider momentum for employment rights that later aligned with national rural employment guarantee efforts.
