Professional training for 1,614 sanitation and solid waste personnel to improve segregation, processing and circular economy practices across the Nilgiris.

RDO, with support from Microland Foundation, is delivering a district level solid waste management training programme for personnel from panchayats, town panchayats, municipalities and civil society organisations. The training strengthens practical skills in waste segregation, collection, resource recovery, composting and safe handling. It also supports the longer term vision of creating dignified green work and waste based social enterprise models in the Nilgiris.

Key Outcomes

1,614 solid waste personnel trained, with indirect benefits for 9,000 families in Ketti Town Panchayat and wider improvements in local waste systems.
