Operating Childline 1098 to rescue children, prevent abuse and child marriage, and connect vulnerable children to legal and welfare support.

RDO served as the implementing partner for Childline 1098 in the Nilgiris, the Government of India’s emergency helpline for children in distress. The programme combined school awareness, community outreach, rapid response, rescue support and coordination with police, courts, transport providers and welfare institutions. It created a trusted route for children to report abuse, exploitation, child marriage and other risks.

Key Outcomes

Approximately 17,000 children rescued or supported, with many children connected to education, shelter and legal protection.
